States are key actors in decisions affecting pollinators. Pollinators are the keystone species for the planet’s survival. Pollinators continue to experience a decline. Pollinators are responsible for one of every three bites of food we eat. Habitat loss, disease, and chemicals are contributing to the loss of pollinators. Limited use of chemicals is step one, many states already limit chemical use to certified farms. Step two is protecting and increasing pollinator habitat. Public education on where food comes from and the importance of pollinators for food production is necessary.
