Scientists discovered a 2,624 year old bald cypress in a North Carolina Swamp. Bald cypress trees are now confirmed to be the oldest known wetland species on Earth. Even though these trees are in a protected area, they are still threatened by climate change, illegal logging, and industrial pollution.
