Eleven New Species of Frogs Discovered

A PhD student at the University of British Columbia discovered eleven new species of frogs in Ecuadorian Andes. Pristimantis is the most diverse genus of tetrapods consisting of amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals. Pristimantis has a range from Honduras to Northern Argentina and Southern Brazil. Even though these species are newly discovered, they are listed as ‘Data Deficient’ and ‘Threatened with Extinction’ due to habitat lose activities by humans.
