When was the last time you took a walk without worrying about how far you went or how quickly you got there?
This week, slow down and let nature set the pace. A mindful nature walk isn’t about reaching a destinationβit’s about noticing what’s happening all around you.
π Look β Notice the colors, shapes, patterns, and movement around you.
π Listen β How many different birds, insects, or rustling leaves can you hear?
π Smell β Breathe in the scent of flowers, damp soil, fallen leaves, or pine needles.
β Feel β Notice the warmth of the sun, a cool breeze, or the texture of tree bark.
π¦ Observe β Watch a butterfly visit a flower, a bird search for food, or an ant make its way across the ground.
Try walking slowly for 15 minutes. Put your phone away, except perhaps for a photo or two, and pay attention to things you might normally walk right past.
You don’t need a wilderness trail. A neighborhood, backyard, local park, or garden can become an adventure when you take the time to truly notice it.
π± Explore Outdoors Challenge: On your walk, find one thing you’ve never noticed before. What did you discover?
Sometimes connecting with nature is as simple as slowing down enough to see it. π
