SUMMARY:Great Southeast Pollinator Census
DESCRIPTION:The Cherokee County Master Gardeners invite the community to take part in the **Great Southeast Pollinator Census**\, a fun\, family-friendly citizen science event that helps researchers better understand and protect the bees\, butterflies\, and other pollinators essential to our ecosystems and food supply. Participants will spend a short period observing flowers\, counting the pollinators they see\, and contributing their observations to this region-wide conservation effort—no previous experience is needed\, and volunteers will be available to help. Census activities will be hosted at three locations in Cherokee County: the **Cherokee County Senior Center**\, 1001 Univeter Road\, Canton\, GA 30115; the **Backyard Agriculture Education Station at Cherokee Veterans Park**; and the **Ball Ground Botanical Garden**\, 215 Valley Road\, Ball Ground. Come discover the remarkable diversity of pollinators in our own community while contributing valuable data to a larger effort to understand and conserve them.
